[Snowy] Future public Tomboy sync server

Stefan Hammer pointed me to this mail from Stuart Langridge reporting that Ubuntu are shutting down their public Tomboy sync server.

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/snowy-list/2012-December/msg00000.html

We discussed setting up a public server at MonkeySpace last October and both Mike Urbanski and Timo Dörr started work on implementations (further work on Snowy and Rainy, a ServiceStack powered implementation respectively).

We plan to eventually run a server on one of these implementations via our newly set up non-profit MonkeySquare*. When this server will be up and running is though something I cannot give a date for yet as there is still a lot of work to be done.

We are hoping that this will eventually provide a lifeline for Tomboy users after Ubuntu shuts down their service. Since this is going to happen soon I will put getting the server up and running high on the to do list.

Kind regards,
David Nielsen

* MonkeySquare is a non-profit set up to foster the Open Source community around .NET, we arrange the MonkeySpace conference every year and other events.
