Long story short: What would be your suggestion for handling that
situation? Or, how unstable is unstable? ;) Any chance to cut a stable
release earlier?

0.27.0 is broken and will corrupt your data on camera import. 0.27.1should be ok.

I will break the database scheme at some point.
