In the long run, it might be nice to have a virtual keyboard that is customized for use with a screen reader. 
 Alternatively, voice input is a real possibility.  However, using a physical keyboard is something that can 
be done in the short run.

Indeed, but it should be possible to get by without a physical keyboard for apps (e.g., notetakers), 
text-based menu systems, and/or CLI-based interaction, which could get by with a more limited and specialized 
UI than a screen reader would need.

My notion is that the user could use the built-in facilities for simple tasks, only bringing out the keyboard 
for more complex ones.
