[orca-list] unmuting speakup in Talkingarch installation

Hi all. I've gotten a new Windows 10 laptop. It has 8 gigs ram, 1 TB space. In Vmware, I'm trying to use talking arch. I use Storm's install script:

to install Arch. After installing, the VM boots, but speakup never speaks. I log in, and can get Espeak to say stuff

espeak test

But Speakup still doesn't talk. Any ideas? Is Speakup muted, or disabled?
