Perhaps you just need to enable the sharing service autostart.
Compare what you have in ~/.config/autostart folder on the computers that start the sharing and those that do 
not. 
Also there is  /etc/xdg/autostart.
I am only an ocasional gnome user, and do not use samba which is what I think you are talking about, so I'm 
far from an expert on this. 
If you do not already have the gnome tweak tool installed, get it and you can configure what auto starts from 
the GUI if you prefer that method, 
otherwise, just copy files from your /usr/share/applications/ directory where application .desktop files live 
if no where else.
