Re: [orca-list] Accessible audio video DVD player

I've used Totem in the past to play audio and it does have ability to
map common media keys to control the program from outside the
program's focus. Lately, I've come to like gnome-mplayer. Basically
it is a front-end to mplayer itself and once inside the program, you
use the regular mplayer command keys to control it. I'm not aware of
any to apply global keys to it like with Totem.

I've never watched any DVDs with gnome but I understand totem is a
regular "movie player". Mplayer can supposedly play DVDs too.

Hi.

I've been trying to find an accessible all in one player that does audio and
video, a bit like Winamp. Also one that plays DVDs. What do people use for
this?

Also, with Winamp in Windows for example, I can control playback with global
hotkeys available from whereever I am in Windows. Can this be done with any
of the applications in Linux?

Thanks.
