Thanks to the author of the wiki page or at least the latest revisions
to the section concerning access to admin utilities. I tried the
"newer" method and got into network-admin and printers from the gnome
terminal. I think I tried the method of enabling root access or
something and that's where I ran into conflicting information about a
central config file. Anyway, I got in this way. Not sure which
programs may give me trouble in the future or not but I especially
wanted to get into setting up my printer for gnome. As far as
packages are concerned, I'll probably stick to aptitude and friends.

Thanks Daniel, for the encouragement to give it another try.

Anyone know how to do this with Debian? When I last attempted it, the
files differed enough for me to not know what I was doing. As of now,
I still cannot access any admin functions from Orca under Debian. I'm

I'm on debian, and didn't have any problems with this... Follow the
sysadmin page and tell us where you have problems... I think the visudo
file is a bit different...

Daniel.
