Re: [orca-list] OT, slow IP connection

If this has anything to do with IPv6, it's likely that your router is trying to act as a DNS proxy and doing a bad job of it. If that's the case, first, see if the manufacturer of the device has released updated firmware. If they haven't, and if there's a dumpster behind your building, give it a contribution. Once you have a real router, which should solve your problem right away, you might consider getting an IPv6 connection anyway. You can go to http://tunnelbroker.net/. However, you will want to use something like edbrowse to sign up. Please don't use ff3. Message to follow.

Hi All,
I am running an update, and the connection is painfully slow, in my Ubuntu
7.10.
I read on the web that it is the TCP-stack trying IPv6, when there is no IP6
connection available.
Question,
Will my update change this?
Thanks.
