wpa_supplicant process although no WiFi adapter is present

Dear NeworkManager folks,

I am running a desktop box with Debian Sid/unstable. The system has no
WiFi adapter. Sometimes a UMTS device will be used. I was surprised
seeing that `wpa_supplicant` is running in the background nevertheless.

I guess NetworkManager started it, since the package also depends on
`wpasupplicant`.

    root 1116 0.0 0.2 4748 1304 ? S 13:35 0:00 /sbin/wpa_supplicant -u -s

Is there a way to disable the loading of `wpa_supplicant`?

Thanks,

Paul
