You meant that that dreadfull 'auto eth0' will still be there, and read
only?

I confirm that latest nm from proposed updates fixes that issue.

They seems to be already honored.
As I understand ppp connections have no netmask, but it
still be nice to have a option to ignore default gateway but use
everything else from dhcp for other connections.
What do you think?
