Socket I/O timed out on android devices

I am using libsoup 2.4 with gstreamers souphttpclientsink and I am randomly getting 'Socket I/O timed out' errors on write attempts, this doesnt happen on windows or linux machines, is this a known issue on android ? how can I increase the timeout ?
