This design is interesting. You didn't explain though how you were planning to make it work with changes of maps sources (which causes the view to reask for the sames tiles to a different MapSource). In the case of the code to be merged soon (the local rendering), you idea should work too! If Emmanuel likes it, I'd say its a go :) Pierre-Luc
