we're planning to play soccer, right?? 1.4km down the road (straight shot) is a nice way to warm up. =) 

i will scout it today, and check if a bus or something runs between. malieveld is still the other viable option.

For 'interesting' values of walking distance. It's on the other end of
the Laakkwartier quarter that abuts the venue.

According to Google it's 1.4 km, about a mile for those that don't do
metric. I would walk that, but it's not quite next door.
