The ability to save over files without renaming

Hello out there...

Ok I have a question regarding the save function in gnumeric. Every time
I try to save over a file I receive an error message that states Saving
Old Files Disabled for Safety....I need the ablity to be able to save
over certain files.  Any ideas on how to accomplish this?  Any help
would be grateful....
