Re: Will gnome work on 300 mhz w 128 mb ram?

Hi Ben,

I have Edubuntu (Edgy with GNOME 2.16) running in a PIII 500 mhz with
128mb of ram. Some applications are really painfull to run, like
OpenOffice.

The main memory is full used after load the system, so I recommend at
least 256mb of ram (I think that this is the GNOME recommendation). I
think that GNOME 2.16 can run pretty well in a system with 256mb and a
faster HD than mine in a 300 mhz processor. In this computer my HD is
not so fast, so where I lost more time is accessing swap and loading
applications to maim memory.
