Axel,

The create_function returning (void *) is not a problem, the pointer is
still useful, so save it.

Also, any one of your callback functions provides a pointer to the
widget that triggered the callback.  You can use that pointer in the
lookup_widget call.

Try also looking at example applications to see how they solve the same
problem; there are many different ways to solve it.
