Nice! I upgraded to GTK+3.6 from the Arch gnome-unstable repos before
doing the build this time. I still had the error on
gitg-ext-navigation-tree-view.vala:193, but at least the program runs
now. I can view history, and the new diff rendering looks amazing!

Things are still unstable, and I the new GTK version has broken some
stuff on my system, but at least things are getting closer!

Believe it or not, it's a lot more stable than it was before ;) As you can see we have quite some work ahead of us still to get back to where the current gitg is currently. That said, the codebase allows for much faster development now and things are starting to get into good shape. Btw, the error you have is due to a problem in the vala VAPI bindings for gtk+ and should be fixed in later versions of vala (anything >= 0.17.2 would do).

We are also very much looking for extra help getting things in good shape, so if you are looking to contribute you're help will be warmly appreciated! You can join us on IRC (#gitg on gimpnet, or more regularly just on #gedit on gimpnet).
