I found out today - especially after updating my version of
libgnomecanvas to 2.2.0 (or better) that things got a bit snappier - and
after cleaning out heaps of "garbage" left over in the
/tmp/orbit-yournamehere and doing a reboot, it's even snappier. Then
again, any time I make a change to the system I double check my
/etc/ld.so.conf and my HD settings and the likes JUST IN CASE; but
overall it's running snappier - and I'm thankful of that...(just can't
get my summary page back - nice core-dump when I click on SUMMARY - but
I can live without that for a while).
