Re: [Evolution] evo 1.5 does not show calendar, contacts

today I started with trying out evo 1.5. All my mails are ok, but when I
have a look into the calendar or contacts, there's nothing in.

AFAIK importing isn't fully implemented yet.

Be warned. 1.5 is beta software, currently under heavy development.
1.5.x versions are not intended for daily work of the average user. 2.0
will be the next *stable* release.

I won't suggest using Evo 1.5 unless you wanna help the hackers finding
bugs or feel adventurous.

Where are my items?

They are still at the place, where they used to be:
 ~/evolution/local/

Just use Evolution 1.4.x, there is no harm done to your data and
settings.

Evolution (since 1.5) finally uses a different directory for the local
data in a for hidden directory by default: ~/.evolution/ Evolution 1.5
only uses this directory and will not touch your valid 1.4.x data.

If you wanna go back to stable Evolution 1.4.x and give the importer
another try once it is major enough, you can go back to the previous
state:

(Be warned. Any changes to your Evo 1.5 *data* will be lost and not
available to Evo 1.4.x versions. Like retrieved mails on POP3 accounts,
newly added Contacts, etc. Changed settings should be fine for 1.4.x
too.)

Remove the Evolution 1.5 data: (Note the dot! Do not remove the
~/evolution directory!)
$ rm -Rf ~/.evolution/

Change the settings version back (to not confuse the importer):
$ gconftool-2 --set --type=string /apps/evolution/version '1.4.0'

HTH and answers your questions...
