  Ah, right, I looked at your patch last week-end briefly, but your patch didn't apply to git head (even 
after removing all the spurious \r due to your Windows environment), I started looking at what was going 
on, but got interrupted.

  You could help by reposing a rebased, cleaned up version of the patch which actually applies to the git 
code base :-)

Apparently, not only \r sneaked in, but the tabs were replaced by spaces too.
Indentation seems to be a mix of spaces and tabs in this file by the way.
Anyhow, here is a (hopefully) clean patch. I've added an xsl file for testing purposes.
