Hi there!

I wanted to announce to you the existence of libhttpseverywhere.
It's a library written in Vala that allows you to use (some of the)
features of HTTPSEverywhere (formerly only known as a browser plugin)
in (GNOME-)desktop applications.
Whenever you expect arbitrary URLs from the user you can ensure that
the url will be accessed via HTTPS if this is possible.

It also builds the typelib files so the library can be used via
GObject Introspection, but i don't think i have to explain that to you
folks ;)
