Re: [Tracker] ANNOUNCE: tracker 0.12.0 released (stable)

I managed to get the indexing for thunderbird working - the extension
was installed under /usr/lib/thunderbird-5.0/extensions, but I am
using thunderbird 6, where the extensions are installed in
/usr/lib/addons/extension. I just created a symlink, and it is working
now.

But I hava an additional problem: my nautilus hangs when I install the
nautilus tagging extension and click on properties or tags. I now
installed it without the nautilus integration, but would like to have
it as well - any suggestions welcome (running nautilus from
commandline does not give any messages when it hangs.).

Cheers,

Rainer

What is it? ===========

Tracker is a semantic data storage for desktop and mobile
devices. Tracker uses W3C standards for RDF ontologies using
Nepomuk with SPARQL to query and update the data.

Nice - I just compiled it, and I have a question: is has the
status icon disappeared? I can't find it anymore.

Yes. It's not relevant for users most of the time and it was
removed because of the introduction of GNOME shell too.

Also, it seems that the email indexing is not working - I
compiled it, but I can not find the plugin to install in
thunderbird?

One thing currently missing is the miner status updates here for
tracker-control to pick this up. You should notice the progress in
Thunderbird itself on the status bar at the bottom right.

If you still have problems, please file a bug.

I would have preferred checkinstall, but that one did not work

checkinstall?
