Hi!,

We've been working quite hard this week in the indexer-split branch, and
I think we're nearly done with all the essential items before a merge
with trunk is feasible, so here's a brief status report. For more
detailed info, please check the ChangeLog in that branch [1]

Between other many improvements, from Jamie's list we've implemented:
- Low disk space check
- Removing deleted/junk emails from index/DBs
- Adding back stop words to the parser

The remaining items we're trying to get done before the merge:
- Deal with all metadata in emails: Nearly done, only attachments are
missing.
- Temporary blacklisting of files that change frequently.
- Index splitting/merging: Would it be necessary if we start using
Sqlite FTS3 for storing the indexes? Looks like something worthwhile to
check, this item will bring considerable extra complexity to the
indexing/querying logic.

sqlite fts has its own internal merging

You can leave out putting back index merging although we wont be able to
have a new tracker release until I have FTS3 and Xesam onto done (if we
merge this week I can try and do this this weekend)

- Add back implementations for IndexMountedDirectories and
IndexRemovableMedia configuration options.

We will continue working on these items next week, of course there are
other missing functionalities, but these can be worked on after the
merge.

Let me know when its ready for merge - i would really like to merge this
week if possible

thanks for your efforts
