Re: [Tracker] tempfiles left by trackerd

are you sure tracker created these? can you show ls -l and is their
date the same as when it was indexed?

Sadly yes, I'm sure these temporary files are created by trackerd,
nothing else was running when they appeard and I am able to reproduce it.

These tempfile seem to be created when indexing (at least) msword .doc
files (and I suspect powerpoint too) since:

bertrand manchego:~$ ls --full-time tempfile.*
-rw------- 1 bertrand bertrand 51266 2006-11-29 10:26:01.000000000
0100 tempfile.100500.jpg
-rw------- 1 bertrand bertrand 22601 2006-11-29 10:26:01.000000000
0100 tempfile.100501.jpg
-rw------- 1 bertrand bertrand 124534 2006-11-29 10:26:03.000000000
0100 tempfile.100630.png
-rw------- 1 bertrand bertrand 28715 2006-11-29 10:26:03.000000000
0100 tempfile.100631.png
-rw------- 1 bertrand bertrand 56114 2006-11-29 10:26:03.000000000
0100 tempfile.100632.png
(...)

got the corresponding indexed file:
bertrand manchego:~/.Tracker$ grep 10:26:01 tracker.log
(..)
29 nov 2006, 10:26:01:659 - Extracting Metadata for *new* file
/home/bertrand/ASE 2006/Business service network design.doc with mime
application/msword and service type 2
(..)

in this "Business service network design.doc" are embeded the 2 first
images (100500.jpg and 100501.jpg).. and the others I found in another
msword .doc indexed later.

Hope this helps fixing the indexing.
Let me know if I can help in any way (testing when fixed... for instance).
Send me a private mail if you'd like to get 1 or 2 doc files that are
concerned.

Bertrand.
