I'm currently using RB 0.9.8, and wanted to say thank you! The use of
album art has improved significantly since 0.9.6 with its inclusion in
the notifications and task bar tool tip. I also like the Jamendo plugin.
Anyway - on to my questions... I haven't filed bugs as I felt the ideas
needed a little discussion.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I generally have the browser view set to only show Artists & Albums.
The search bar has buttons to restrict the search to All, Artists,
Albums and Tracks. This is visually consistent.
However, it appears that when search is set to all, it also searches the
genre...
So, why isn't there a "Genre" search refinement button? This would also
serve as a visual queue that the genre is searched when you have
selected search "All".
Alternatively, the search buttons and search fields could depend on the
option set for the Browser View (i.e. Album & Artist, Genre & Artist,
Genres, Artists & Albums) plus track titles.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus a related thought - I notice that I can set the Browser View to be
hidden for one source (e.g. main library) but visible for another (e.g.
Jamendo). This is nice - and useful to me because the browser (with
genre) is very helpful in exploring the Jamendo offerings, while for my
own library I don't use the browser at all.
I might like to have the browser show "Artist & Album" in the library,
but "Genre, Artist & Album" for Jamendo. Does anyone else thing this
would be nice - or would it simple be confusing the preference for a
minority desire?
Thanks
Peter
