To make it clear from the beginning, I agree that it will be git, but
refrain from saying it is the best and so on (not productive anyway, so
do not copy this outside r-t).

Agreed.

I'm not sure that is the case, so I'll refrain. Note that I disagree
with the use of 'potentially'. It was one of the key points raised, so
potentially is too soft.

The quality of the migration should not be tested, this is the
responsibility of the migration team. If you leave it up to testers,
then the responsibility is in the wrong place.
Automated tools should be used to test everything, branches, 'blame'
output, end of line things, etc.

Testers should focus on new workflows and so on.
