AFAIK they were not on gnome's ftp at all before.  the core tarball was
released on the gstreamer site last friday, and the plugins one
yesterday.

that is probably when I actually copied them to window and
install-module'd them.

My guess is that you downloaded from the gstreamer site before and from
ftp.gnome.org after.  The md5sums are the same since they're the same
files, just copied at different times.
