Re: [orca-list] Orca no longer speaks the contents of cells in Sheets with firefox

Hi,
I really don't understand what's happening. make install in orca master branch installs everything in /usr/local. I run /usr/local/bin/orca --debug. I am unable to get another version than 43.0. The "stable" orca version is in /usr/bin, so I dont understand why this release runs while I dont run it. An idea?

Thanks! That does look like a different issue, in particular an
unhandled exception which I believe I'm handling in Orca master. Your
debug.out is from Orca 43.0. Orca from master should report 43.1 and
the git revision. If you can still reproduce the problem with that
version of Orca, please provide a new debug.out.

Hi Joanie,

Many thanks for this. Unfortunately it does not fix the issue here. I
give yout the debug log:
https://people.debian.org/~jpmengual/deboug.out

I can send you privately the affected URL.

I am not able to establish a relationsship direct between the Firefox
bug and what I experience, but it is possible. If you tell me it is
related, I can comment the bug report against Firefox. Bisecting
shows
that even 30 days ago (for Orca), the problem existed, so I think the
regression was included in Firefox.

Best regards

Hi Jean-Philippe.

I don't know if it's this Firefox bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1794100 or not. But
I'm
now working around that bug in Orca master and made some other
changes/fixes related to table cells. Could you please retest?

Thanks!

Hi,

Today I tried reading a table on sheets with firefox. The cell
coordinates are spoken if the cell is blank/empty. If a cell
contains
some text, eg. a name or number, I hear "Selected" but nothçing
else.
To
see the content of the cell, I need to press f2 and have a look
at
the
field to change the content.

An idea about what is happening? Is it a bug to report to
Firefox?

As usual I use orca master, firefox daily, and so on.

Thanks for your help

regards
