Re: [orca-list] Trouble Getting Orca Working On Skywave

Hi,
When I did all that on the thumb drive when I did SSH into it, I had speech output, so I know that there were failed parts of some packages.
But on the thumb drive, I did get espeak to speak, but not spd-say.
I can't say on the VmWare, since I cannot SSH into that, I see it's IP address on my router, but it doesn't fully connect, like port 22 won't go through the VmWare.
I did
ufw allow ssh
and that didn't help.
So when it joins the network, it shows it's IP address, but no name.
But that wasn't the case on the thumb drive image, it showed up as skywave on the IP list.
This is tough without speech output, the only way I know I'm in the terminal is to do the speaker test.

This is on a VmWare session.
I've done apt update and apt install gnome-orca and apt install speech-dispatcher and apt install alsa-base pulseaudio and apt install speakup.

Did all of those package installations succeed?

Also, you said the distribution was Ubuntu-based. It might be easier to install Ubuntu and then add whatever packages you need than to deal with whatever customizations this distribution has made.
