Re: [orca-list] Accessible Disk Partition Managers

Daniel,
Sounds like it used up the GUID partition.
So maybe it was there anyway, because that is about the size GUID allocates
for boot managers.

Hi Didier

Correct, but in creating the partition and it accidentally moving to the
left of C drive, I don't know of a way to reclaim that disk space.

This is what I want to learn just in case.

for the obvious reason, that I'll know what to do in the event of any
future accidents in disk partitioning and reclaiming un allocated space
back into one full C drive again. On 18 Feb 2021, at 22:31, Didier Spaier

Hi Daniel,

You want is to make room for Linux in Windows, right?

If yes I have written instructions here:

http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/doc/New_Installer/Doc_in_the_installer/FreeSpace

They are intended for folks wanting to install Slint alongside Windows
but
should work for any other Linux.

Best regards
Didier

Hi all
Thought I would explain what happened then look for your suggestions.
In it's simplest form, I created a 50MB partition, Thinking the size was
50GB for linux. However, the 50MB went to the left of the C drive. Using
the windows 10 disk management tool. If it had moved to the right of C, I
think I would be able to of successfully reclaimed the disk space and
expand it back into C. However, since the win10 disk management app has
this limitation here, I'm seeking an accessible windows programme, that
can see its to the left of the c drive or anywhere on the disk and expand
it back into one big drive again.
Who would of thought disk partitioning was so complicated!

fdisk works like a charm, and is almost as if they made it for
accessibility. Well, I guess they did, as they made it to be run

I recommend cgdisk with its option -a (as in "accessibilty")
as indicated in its man page gor GPT partition tables.

I've never had luck using gParted with Ubuntu, but I use disks in

I also use Parted and fdisk in the terminal.

I’ve had pretty good success with Gparted. that one is included on the
live
Ubuntu image.

Hello all

Wondering if anyone could recommend any Disk Partition Managers that
are
accessible to screen readers? I don't mind buying if it is
accessible.

I know that there is the default Win10 Disk Manager. However, as I
have
discovered, it has limitations which I have consequently found out,
hence
looking for a third-party app to address my issue.

Many thanks in advance for your recommendations.
