Re: [orca-list] DBus Broker and orca/ ATK / AT-SPI?

Howdy Chrys and all,

I can't use dbus-broker because dbus-broker-launch is tailored for
systemd-based distributions, Cf. this thread:
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/bus1-devel/7sQ4mAPaTNI/9tqwvBGFCwAJ

Anyone eager to write an alternate launcher not needing systemd?

Best,

Didier

Howdy,

i just figured that fendora 30 whill ship dbus-broker as default.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/DbusBrokerAsTheDefaultDbusImplementation

for those who wanna testing, its available in most distros.
on ArchLinux:
sudo pacman -S dbus-broker

and then just enable the service (it replaces old dbus-daemon by itself)

sudo systemctl enable dbus-broker.service
sudo systemctl --global enable dbus-broker.service

as it feels more responsive here i can recomment this currently.

Howdy List,

i read recently a lot about dbus broker as faster alternative to the traditional dbus-daemon. I often
hear/ read that dbus is one of AT-SPI2 bottlenecks as its (dbus-daemon) very slow.

does anyone have experience with this? does dbus-broker give some better performance to the a11y stack?
anyone tried?
