Re: [orca-list] Donating, and quick question about Voxigyn

Hi,

First historically Joanie has never wanted donations, and Igalia cannot them as a profit company. Joanie considers as well that it is better to debug apps than working on Orca itself for someone wanting to improve accessibility. Next you are right, reinforcing accessibility in free software is very important, as just now, just Joanie works on it, as well as Hypra. The situation is somewhat worrying I think.

Hypra is now probable the most frequent contributor after Joanie. F123 does as well. Some weeks ago, a project was planned with the IAVIT foundation, I dont know the status.

Accelibreinfo is the non-profit organization bihind Hypra and can thus accept donations. It will enable us to fund Hypra to improve accessibility (debug Firefox, libreoffice, Mate, set non-regression tests, developing a keyboard learning app, etc). If you want to donate I can send you our IBAN. Other people choosed to pay Hypra as a customer to get support or a fully accessible system, with less efforts, and knowing that paying such invoices is actually a contribution to make us live and go on accessibility.

Hello.

I am sorry, but it would be better when people would support Orca development too. I am afraid of end of Orca development, if there is only one developer and some money to support. I like your work, Joanie, you're great, but I think, more money and perhaps some helpers who know programming can help. I am sorry, but I am writing this only for good of linux accessibility. I don't want end of linux accessibility, it's my primary system and when it ends, I will be without computer.

Best regards

Vojta.

My employer (Igalia) supports my work on Orca. I think Hypra takes
donations. Thanks and take care.

I let Jean-Philippe give you the detail about donation we could accept.

Best regards,
ALex.
