This feature seems quite useful in terminals, which tend to be quite
chatty at times, for everything from installing packages to building
source code, and other things as well. I would propose either a key
that would silence incoming text until another key is pressed,, or a
toggle key that silences the current application until pressed again,
so long as I could still read the current application's flat review,
and switching away from the application and back into it would toggle
off its silent status.
