Re: [orca-list] Podcast: Paldo Accessibility

hi,

thanks for listening.

speakup is not built in yet because it already starts into the desktop automatically.
but you can use the terminal. i don't know if this works for you as well.

upkg gets its source files from its own server.
this is actually just useful if the package is not around for your platform but its already compiled for another platform which paldo supports.

for example the gnome tweak tool was not available a few days ago for 32 bit machines.
now its on the dvd by default.
but before it was just available for 64 bit systems so i had to build it locally.

greetings,
simon

I just listened to the podcast. I especially liked the relaxed tone of
it when things didn't quite work as expected.

I have two questions. First, is Speakup available, either as a binary
or source package? Second, relaed I'd guess, where does upkg go to get
the source files when running upkg-build?

Thanks!

Al

I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds very promising, based on my
impressions from listening to the podcast and a few observations by
people on this list. I second Kyle's "we have another accessible distro
ootb".

Cheers,
