[orca-list] Anjuta IDE

Hi, list,

Was wondering how many out there have ever used Gnome’s Anjuta IDE for programming.  I tried it out some years back but haven’t really touched it since.  Is there anyone out there who has built an application with it?  If so, how well does Orca do with it?  There’s a RAD component that uses Glade I think.  How well does that work with Orca.  When I messed around with it, I saw that a lot of the widgets seemed to be accessible but didn’t get around to trying to create a UI with it.  If I begin using it, it will be with Python code since I would like to learn this language.  I’d like to create an accessible application that reads Daisy, Epubs, PDF’s and RTF’s both using Orca for granular exploration and to incorporate magnification support for low vision users and onboard reading with voices for those who want pleasure reading.  I know it’s ambitious especially since I don’t know Python yet but, you have to have something meaningful to aim for and this is something I think others might be interested in and want to take up.  I don’t know of a Linux tool with a decent UI that does any of these.

Thanks.

Alex M
