Re: [orca-list] Espeak voice variations are not displayed in Orca preferences dialog.

Hi Kyle,

Yeah, I tried the capital click setting in Speech Dispatcher but
didn't like it. There are times I would want it on, such as editing
code, and others when I want it off like reading a scanned book.
Unfortunately, Speech Dispatcher doesn't give a person a quick and
easy way to turn it on/off at will. Although, it does come in handy
for editing code so the jury is still out on that feature.

Thomas,
it indeed doesn't help that you have partial hearing loss, but even
people without hearing loss have problems distinguishing the pitch
difference. I myself had to go back and listen very closely to try to
determine the default pitch, which is one reason why I generally prefer
to set the capital letter click setting I mentioned in
speech-dispatcher. The other reason I like this particular setting is
that it gives you a good idea of where the capital letters are in
realtime, not just when reading a character at a time. That being said,
the default uppercase pitch has been raised in Orca, I'm guessing in git
master. The fix will be available in the next release.
