Re: [orca-list] More Recent Orca debs?

I figured I would have to upgrade at-spi, but didn't realize that would force me up to Gnome 3.

My hope was to upgrade as little as possible for now--just what was necessary to bring Orca more current, hopefully staying with Gnome2.

I don't really mind upgrading to unstable, although I'd prefer not to go up to testing, since this is a production laptop.

Is Gnome-shell 3.2 particularly less accessible than Gnome 2.X?

Hello

Are there pre-packaged versions of Orca for Debian, that are
maintained outside of stable?

Yes, in the unstable and testing repositories. As a practical matter, you
would be best to upgrade your entire system, since the latest Orca also
depends on AT-SPI 2.

Gnome-Shell 3.2 isn't very accessible; 3.4 is better, but it hasn't been
uploaded to Debian yet. The developers are working through a complicated
process of upgrading the dependencies so they can move to gnome 3.4.

So, if you're willing to deal with Gnome 3.x and the latest of everything, by
all means configure testing or unstable as your primary repository and
upgrade.
