Re: [orca-list] Ubuntu 11.10 and vmware player

I actually tried this on 11.04 recently. The installer works fine, but VMWare Player doesn't seem to work well at all with Pulse. I always got warnings when launching VMs about sound not being available. I modified the script to run under padsp, but received errors that the PA libraries couldn't link--nothing more specific than that, unfortunately.

So if someone has a way to run this under Pulse, do let me know. Google was no help. While this isn't strictly an accessibility issue, I figure most VMs will be inaccessible to us if we can't get sound running in them, and while the player itself may be quite accessible under Orca, I wouldn't want anyone else to waste their time if they actually expect it to make sound.

Has anyone used Ubuntu 11.10 with vmware player? If so, how did the vmware instant installer work?
