Re: [orca-list] open office crashes

Interesting this should be mentioned. I've had a couple crashes of
late while exitting Open Office Calc. I t doesn't happen every time
but when it has, I was always pressing Ctrl-Q to quit the program
after having saved the file with Ctrl-S. In my case earlier last
night, I pressed Ctrl-Q to quit Calc and I lost speech. I managed to
kill orca from a text console and then restarted Orca but that even
got flaky until I got Oo out of thee loop entirely before things got
stable again. It is strange indeed.

Hey JosÃ.

I do not think that this related to orca,

I wouldn't be so sure. While this doesn't sound like an Orca bug, it
could be that Orca is triggering it.

For instance, using an AT (Orca or Accerciser) to get the default
attributes of text in Impress' outline mode will cause OOo to crash 100%
of the time. See http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=111668

but sometimes when I quit open
office I receive a message telling me that the program received a crash.

So what would be really helpful is to be able to pin down what we might
be doing in Orca that's triggering it. If you can reliably make it
happen in Orca and get me the steps to reproduce, I'd be happy to take a
look, verify whose bug it is and either fix it (if it's ours) or file it
(if it's theirs).

Thanks! Take care.
