i have had a look at gnucash.from what i can remember entering transactions was inaccessable with orca but things may have changed since i last looked. i was also a bit confused about the way accounts were set up and maybe it might work better if i had tried just creating accounts instead of using the account wizard. i might have another look with the version of orca that comes with intrepid. i have been trying to find something for keeping account details as spreadsheets are not my best knowledge in it.

Anyone else try this program in the past or present? I wonder if
it
would be worth my while to persue the developers on this? I can
hook up
some debugging but probably won't be sure what exactly to look
for.

I thought I'd give a look to GNU Cash which according to thedocumentation is one powerful accounting package. But I can't
seem to
navigate anywhere inside any of the accounts. I was able to do
the
initial setup but I can't seem to view any sub acounts ortransactions. I even imported a .QIF file for kicks but again,
the
transactions were invisible to Orca. Whenever I got into any of
the
panels where I had the trouble, pressing the numpad-Enter key
would
only say "Panel." I think there was supposed to be a list of
items
there but Orca doesn't think so.
Has anyone out there had any experiences, good or bad with GNU
Cash?
I'm doing this on a Debian Lenny system with all current
updates.
