Hi Michael, Michael Ryan wrote:
Evolution can definitely connect to a pop and an imap server. But I still prefer thunderbirdHi all:Giving Ubuntu another go after a couple of months. I don't think Evolution can connect to a pop3 service so have downloaded thunderbird.
I have extracted to a folder to my desktop but can't figure out a way to install it. I have tried the make install root but receiving rules undefined. Really new to this stuff so some step by step instructions on how to install and run successfully would help.Actually there is no need to install as it already comes in a binary package. simply run the thunderbird shell script and the program will start. if you set thunderbird as your default email client, it will start whenever you press the EMail button on the keyboard. the program will also download the updates. go to help and click apply updates.
Thanks, Aruni.
