Re: [orca-list] Getting orca to see other speech synthesizers

Hello Luke,
Yes, I have this enabled. I'm using ubuntu 8.04. I was able to get the
package by typing
Sudo apt-get install gnome-speech-swift
After I've done this, everything was successful, but I don't see any speech
synthesizers in the combobox other then espeak. What shal I do next?

Alonzo

hello everyone,

I've installed a ceptral voice to test with orca. However, I am not sure
how to get orca to see the cepstral engine to switch to it. Since i'vve not
heard back from capital acesibility concerning ttsynth I would try something
else in the mean time. I'm hoping to get ttsynth back to try it with orca.
If anyone has any recommendations for any other synthesizer other then
espeak please advise.

What distribution are you using? If you are using either Ubuntu 7.10 or
8.04, make sure you have the multiverse repository enabled in
/etc/apt/sources.list, and install the gnome-speech-swift package. This
should get things set up so you can use orca with cepstral.

Hope this helps.
