Subject: [orca-list] Thunderbird/Firefox: Directory to save file in notspoken

Hi,

I have run across this problem in both Thunderbird and Firefox. When I
enter the Save As dialog box and Shift-Tab to the combo box used to
display the directory in which the file will be saved, Orca does not
speak the name of the directory when focus arrives at the combo box.

Examples to duplicate:

Thunderbird: A message arrives with an attachment. With the message view
window open, pull down the File menu, choose Attachments, which produces
a submenu containing the names of the attachments and a few other
options. Arrow to the attachment you want to save, press the right arrow
to get into the submenu, and select "Save As". When the dialog box
appears, Shift-Tab four times to reach the "Save In Folder:" combo box.
Do you hear the name of the folder spoken?

In Firefox: You are viewing a page and you decide to save the page. Pull
down the file menu and choose Save Page As. The Save As dialog will
appear. Shift-Tab four times to reach the "Save In Folder:" combo box.
Do you hear the name of the folder where the page will be saved?

A work-around is to activate the combo box using the space bar, and the
name of the current folder will be spoken. Press the space bar again to
close the combo box.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Thanks,

dave
