[orca-list] Ubuntu packages - binary vs. source

OK, when I try this for atk, I get nothing at all. What's up with dat? <smile>

When I try it with gail, I get the following binary package names:
Binary: libgail18, libgail-common, libgail-dev, libgail-dbg, libgail-doc

You suggest in your message that saying "apt-get install libgail18" will do the right thing, so does this imply that the first binary package name will be all that is required to install all of gail, or must we install each of these binary packages in turn?

Thanx much.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the repository. It doesn't seem to find
most of the package names you listed in your eMail. The only ones I've
been able to install (or remove) by name are:
* gnome-orca-stable gnome-orca-devel gnome-orca-svn
* at-spi

Thats interesting, because once I finished uploading everything to the repository and made sure it was built, I added the repository to my sources.list file and upgraded. Brltty, amongst others that I'd uploaded including gail, were upgraded. Note that packages like gail, and gnome-speech, aren't exactly called that in their binary form. For example, gail is libgail18, and gnome-speech is libgnome-speech7.

To find ou what binary packages belong to a source package, run 'apt-cache showsrc packagename'

Hope this helps.
