NetworkManager uses usb0 as my default network interface, how do I stop it?

NetworkManager uses usb0 as my default network interface, but I don't have a network connection on usb0. I would like to either remove it as an option or at least not make it not the default connection. I'm running Ubuntu Fiesty, on a nearly clean install. What should I do?
