I have been following the conduit project very closely, of which he has
been an integral contributor. Conduit is a suggested addition to gnome
2.24, even if it doesn't make 2.24, I bet it will make 2.26. Conduit is
certainly a great addition to GNOME.
I know he has contributed patches back to other GNOME projects, at least
as they relate to his conduit work. I would certainly recommend John as
a GNOME Foundation member.
