Thanks, I was using the old binaries from
 http://gtk2-perl.sourceforge.net/win32/ppm   # don't work

the up-to-date binaries at Mario Fischer's Gtk2-Perl site
 http://www.lostmind.de/gtk2-perl/    #work correctly.
