Is it correct that it searches for "set_custom_.al" instead of
"set_custom_handler.al" ??
i'm not sure whether it's correct, but it's a sure sign that the
function doesn't exist. i've seen it for many moons, and invariably
means that an xsub is spelled wrong or nor implemented.
