trick for searching the mailing list archives

as anyone here that's tried knows, the mailing list archives search 'i didn't
know it was physically possible, but this both sucks and blows at the same
time.'

here's a little google trick that may prove useful, search for:
    site:mail.gnome.org "gtk2-perl" <search-term(s)>

just replace <search-term(s)> with what you want to search for. there's
probably a way to limit it to just the gtk2-perl archives with out the
gtk2-perl string, but that seems to work. if you've got something better pass
it along.

another cool trick, link:some.site.org will give you a list of sites that
google sees links to some.site.org. (the more you have the higher your google
pagerank is going to be.) at any rate this seems to work pretty well.

later,
-rm
