Handle an icon theme switch

Hi all
in an app i'm developing, i ve to be noticed if the icon theme is
changed in order to reload all the images!
I thought about a function executed every second which check if the
current default theme is equal to the old one.
I would like to know if is there a gtk event for that, or should i
implement the idea above!
